Clinical pictures

Even though we also care for adults, paediatric orthopedics is especially important to us. Children with a disability or deformity also want to be active and explore the world. We would like to help them be able to do this to the best of our ability.

We are intensively active in providing assistive aids for the following illnesses:

infantile cerebral palsy (ICP), arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC), spina bifida (MMC), dysmelia, foot deformities, scoliosis, pigeon chest, paralysis.

Orthoprostheses

In the event of malformation, an orthoprosthesis compensates for the shorter length of the leg and, if necessary, provides corrective support.

Mobile through power transfer

New orthosis for spina bifida patients

The PowerHip® intrinsic strength orthosis was developed primarily for children with spina bifida (MMC). The aid, which is individually adapted to the patient's body and is created using a 3D printing process, transfers the force from the child's usually strong knees to the weak hip. In this way, the orthosis causes active extension of the hip - from the child's own leg strength!

Many children with spina bifida can move around better thanks to the PowerHip® orthosis and are more mobile overall.

We have been awarded

Germany's innovation leader

The F.A.Z. Institute has once again named us "Germany's Innovation Leader". We are very pleased about this award and would like to briefly explain how we achieved this honor: According to F.A.Z., as Germany's innovation leader, we have played a significant role in shaping the orthopedic technology industry. This is expressed, among other things, in the fact that we are cited remarkably often by others. In addition, Pohlig GmbH has registered above-average innovative inventions in close cooperation with various research institutions. Our innovations significantly influence the innovation field of technical orthopedics. According to the F.A.Z. study, we thus lead the innovation competition in Germany.

Treatment options

Hip dysplasia

Hip dysplasia is a congenital or acquired malformation of the acetabulum. In this case, the acetabulum is not large or deep enough to grip the femoral head well. As a result, the femoral head no longer lies stably in the acetabulum. In severe cases, the head of the femur can thus no longer be held centered and slides upward out of the socket (hip dislocation).
